Tenute Lombardo, during his participation at Prowein, received the news of an important award given to Spumante SUALTEZZA 650 ROSÉ, Spumante Rosato IGP Terre Siciliane. In the middle of the wine fair, in the city of Düsseldorf, the award was announced: SUALTEZZA 650 ROSÉ, Spumante Rosato IGP Terre Siciliane won the Sicilian Gold Medal at the Brussels World Competition in the section of Rosé Wines and Sparkling Wines.
The rosé sparkling wine, made from Nero d’Avola grapes, is characterized by intense floral and freshly picked fruit aromas, in particular of rose, strawberry, and cherry, and is distinguished by hints and flavors of fresh fruit typical of Central Sicily.
In C.da Cusatino in the countryside of Caltanissetta, inner Sicily at 650 meters (s.l.m.) in clay soils of calcareous nature, the high temperatures and the scarce rains make difficult the cultivation of the autochthonous vine guaranteeing Nero d’Avola grapes with unique characteristics that we find in the intensity and persistence of the Spumante, together with all the scents of the heights of central Sicily.
Sparkling wine with a pleasing light pink color is fresh and sourish, rich in freshly picked fruit flavors, and deserves full recognition of the Sicilian Gold Medal for the delicacy of a product that contributes to the knowledge of a wine territory, rich but also difficult to cultivate, which the Lombardo family has learned for generations to respect and value.
