A prestigious award, a first for Sicily that at the gala dinner at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, on January 27th 2020, will see in the person of Alberto Tasca the crowning of a long history of commitment and respect between the earth and the man. A deep bond that has lasted 190 years and binds eight generations to the vineyard; a responsible commitment today expressed by the words of Alberto Tasca “For us wine producers at the artisan and family level, it is very important to be careful in the choices that determine the health of the territory in which we live and work. Just as it is necessary to measure the impact of each action. The goal is not to produce sustainable wines, but to produce good and elegant wines in a sustainable way.”
Attention and intuition that led Count Giuseppe Tasca d’Almerita to plant the first Perricone and Nero d’Avola sapling in 1959 and to give life to the first vineyard wine unique in Sicily: Riserva del Conte, later called Rosso del Conte starting on oenological growth path of a rich region but still not aware of its strength.
