The Cossentino winery is located in the hilly part of the Gulf of Castellammare, in the district Lavatore / Costa di Bisaccia (350 m.l.m.), one of the most beautiful and evocative production areas of the D.O.C. Alcamo.
The traditional indigenous sicilian grape varieties such as Catarratto and Inzolia, have been joined with alien grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah which in these lands have found unequaled soil and climatic conditions for the maturation and production of great Sicilian wines.
The high planting intensity (4500 plants / ha), the pruning system aimed at obtaining low yields per hectare are further guarantees for the quality of the grapes that are harvested by hand at full maturity and placed gently in boxes.
The processing in the same company, just a few minutes from the harvest, guarantees the grapes the preservation of that essential fragrance for an optimal result of the winemaking process.
