Wine tourism on Etna (Tenuta Solisciaro)
Immersed in the verdant vigor of Etna's power, on the northern slope, between Solicchiata and Passopisciaro, lies our Tenuta Solisciaro. Here, amidst majestic volcanic rocks and millennial lava, the De Bartoli family passionately cultivates native grape varieties such as Nerello Mascalese and Carricante, enhancing the uniqueness of an extraordinary terroir, at an altitude ranging from 743 to 769 meters above sea level.
The vineyard, facing north-east and built following the traditional Etna terraces, benefits from remarkable temperature variations between day and night, with colder nights and milder days. This contributes to a better balance for the plant and a slower and more qualitative ripening process of the grapes, giving the wines an extraordinary aromatic complexity and surprising longevity.
The Solisciaro estate is owned by De Bartoli Etna (DBE), an acronym that also recalls the meaning of "Deep Bottom Earth". A name that underlines the deep connection with the volcanic terroir, rich in minerals and microelements that give Etna wines a unique and unmistakable character.
Among the majestic volcanic rocks and millennial lava, a unique narrative comes to life that only Etna knows how to tell. De Bartoli leads us on a fascinating journey to discover the "Muntagna", weaving together myth and reality through wines that embody the extraordinary balance between man and nature.
