Chiaramonte Gulfi, a small village just 15 kilometers from Ragusa, offers visitors an extraordinary view. Not surprisingly defined the "Balcony of Sicily" allows you to extend your gaze from Etna to the plain of Gela, from Vittoria and Comiso in the valley of Ippari Caltagirone, from the Iblei Mountains to Erei up to the sea. In its historic center the baroque style refers to the reconstruction of the earthquake after 1693 while the many picturesque staircases retain all the charm of the medieval past. Wine, local cuisine and attentive hospitality are at home in Chiaramonte Gulfi. The main economic resource of the territory is agriculture that reaches peaks of excellence in the production of extra virgin olive oil Monti Iblei (PDO) and excellent wine: Frappato, Cerasuolo di Vittoria Docg, Nero d'Avola accompany the local dishes and the traditional consumption of pork.
In this tasting we offer the tasting of 7 wines from the 3 territories of Gulfi starting from the Ibleo territory passing through Pachino arriving on Etna. Organic wines, respectful of tradition and of three different territories: that of Chiaramonte Gulfi, territory of Cerasuolo di Vittoria Docg; of Pachino, extreme southern tip of Sicily, within the DOC Eloro; of Randazzo, north side of the volcano, inside the DOC Etna. You’ll have Gulfi in your glass and Sicily all around!
