Our winery
The wine tradition of Mannino Family has roots since 1800, when the Baron Franz Mannino began to entertain commercial relations in different parts of the world. Baron Franz exported citrus fruits and wines to North America and in most of Europe and winning prices in different World Wide Expositions. Today thanks to the current heir of the family, Giuseppe Mannino, the company can count on good touristic and commercial relationships with many countries in the world, conducing a company capable to satisfy needs of the market.
“Tenuta del Gelso” in Catania is 65 hectares cultivated mainly with citrus fruits, in the heart of the company there is an old rural house from 1810. A garden full of Mediterranean flora surrounds the “palmento”, a structure used in the past for the transformation of grapes into wine. This palmento is one of the biggest and oldest of the area, still perfect in every part and symbol of the ancient wine-producing tradition of the family and today is ideal for touristic services.
